橋洞
為尋求更多的空間和更快的速度，人們建造了橋，使交通離開地面。在速度就是一切的都市背後，橋面快速的車流下隱藏著緩慢停滯、消失在地圖上的空間。經由觀察橋下住民的生活與空間樣貌，除了探索出尋常經驗的錯位，更讓我們掀開了美學與思考的洞。位於臺北市建國高架橋下的「橋洞」計畫，我們以觀察者的身份加入此處原有的樣貌，從現有功能、結構及目標著手，為這個場域建構它的故事背景，世界正在發生巨大變化，橋洞因而有了新的社會意義。

When a city seeks more space with accelerating development, the bridge has been a symbolic architectural structure built to lift transport over ground, to provide more passage, and to connect communities. Beneath the swift and bustling flow of the bridge, there is an in-between space hidden on the map. Upon observing and investigating this space and the mundane daily activities within, a new site is revealed, one that flows against the hasty traffic and commute above. The Bridge Hole project is located beneath the Jianguo Expressway in Taipei, where we join the site as an observer. By studying the existent functions and responding to the qualities of the site with art and culture, we hope to create an expansive narrative that engages beyond the space. As a project that continued during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bridge Hole has also developed in meaningful ways and taken on new social significance.

OFF-SITE is led by architects and artists with an interest in contemporary art and urban intervention. Established in 2011 as a gallery and a meeting place in Taipei, we research, interact, discuss, produce and exhibit in the public realm.
